Strengths First, Everything Else Second
Learn More About the Being Human Groupâ„¢ Africa and Our Strengths-based Approach
BEING HUMAN GROUPâ„¢ AFRICA was built on a simple bet. People do not grow by fixing what is wrong with them. They grow by doing more of what is already right. That bet has taken two founders, a Gallup partnership, and a client list spanning the Africa continent, and turned it into a strengths movement with staying power.
“Our Value Proposition is focused on helping you, your team, and your managers to Realise Your Potential. “
About Us
Being Human Group Africa started in 2019, when Yendor Felgate stepped down as CEO of Emergence Growth with one question on his mind. Why do so many development programmes focus on fixing weaknesses instead of building on what people already do well? He teamed up with Magriet Mouton, who had lived the answer since 2001, the year she first took the CliftonStrengths® assessment and realised it was not a personality quiz. It was a different way to lead.
Since then, BHG has become one of Gallup’s longest standing Strategic Licensees, delivering the Gallup Global Strengths Coaching Certification across Africa and training coaches who go on to change how their own organisations operate. Weakness fixing builds compliance. Strengths building builds performance, and that is the whole point.
Over twenty years of combined executive experience across Africa sits behind every programme we run. Complex, multi-country rollouts are not the exception here. They are the norm.
Our Mission
Realise your potential. Not someone else’s version of it, yours. Every coaching engagement, every workshop, and every certification course exists to help individuals, managers, and organisations use what they are naturally good at, instead of chasing what they are not.
Individuals
We help people understand their CliftonStrengths® and use them with intention, not by accident.
Teams
Strong teams are not built from identical people. They are built from different strengths, aimed at the same goal.
Leaders & Managers
Leadership is not about having all the answers. It is about knowing which strengths to lead with, and when.
Organisations
Culture change does not come from a memo. It comes from managers who understand what makes their people tick.
Meet the Team
Two founders, two different Top 5s, one shared belief. People do their best work when they lead with what comes naturally, not what they are told to fix.

What Our Clients Are Saying
Google reviews are not curated, not cherry picked, and not edited by us before they go live.
What you will find below is exactly what clients typed after working with BHG, strengths, quirks, and all.
The Proof is In The Plaques
Every award here came from Gallup, the organisation that sets the bar for strengths coaching worldwide.
Not a self-nomination, not a sponsored panel, just the result of two coaches and one certification community doing consistently good work and getting noticed for it.
What does Being Human Group Africa do?
Being Human Group™ Africa helps individuals, leaders, and organisations grow by using what they are already good at, not by fixing what they are not. We deliver strengths-based coaching, team workshops, and the Gallup Global Strengths Coaching Certification across Africa, all built on the CliftonStrengths® assessment.
What makes Being Human Group different from other coaching providers?
Most development programmes start with a gap analysis. We start with a strengths assessment. That single difference changes everything downstream, from how we coach individuals to how we build teams, because a plan built on what someone does well sticks in a way that a plan built on what they lack never does.
Is Being Human Group a Gallup certified partner?
Yes. BHG is a Gallup Strategic Licensee, one of a small number of organisations globally that Gallup partners with directly to deliver its strengths coaching certification in regions where Gallup does not have its own office. We have held that status since 2019.
Is Being Human Group affiliated with Gallup, or independently run?
Both, and that is the point. BHG is an independently owned and run business, not a Gallup subsidiary, but our certification, methodology, and coaching are delivered under formal licence from Gallup. You get Gallup’s research and standards, delivered by a team that lives and works across Africa.
What is a Gallup Strategic Licensee?
A Strategic Licensee is a business that Gallup partners with to deliver its Global Strengths Coaching Certification in parts of the world where Gallup does not operate directly. BHG holds this status for Africa, which means our certification, training materials, and coaching standards carry Gallup’s direct approval, not a secondhand interpretation of it.
Can I verify Being Human Group's Gallup credentials?
Yes. Our Gallup Credential Letter is available to view directly on this page. We would rather you check for yourself than take our word for it.
Where is Being Human Group based?
BHG is headquartered in Johannesburg, South Africa.
Which countries does BHG operate in?
BHG works across Africa and has delivered coaching and certification engagements across the continent and in Mauritius. Our focus stays on the African continent, where two decades of relationships and on the ground experience count for more than a global footprint spread too thin.

Backed by research. CliftonStrengths® and the strengths methodology BHG delivers are built on decades of Gallup research into human behaviour and performance, not a personal theory dressed up as a framework.
What industries has BHG worked with?
BHG has delivered strengths coaching and workshops across telecommunications, blockchain, insurance, marketing, financial services, learning and development, labour, non-profit, and energy sector organisations navigating complex change.
Does BHG work with individuals, or only organisations?
Both. Individual coaching helps a person understand and apply their own CliftonStrengths®, while organisational engagements scale the same thinking across teams and leadership groups.
